In response to the rising cost of living and our core belief that everyone in our community should be able to afford the essentials, we took part in a joint campaign with the Trussell Trust.

Over two days; the 3rd of September and the 14th of October we had a stall on Haverhill Market asking members of the community to sign postcards to our local MP, Matt Hancock in support of our campaign.

We are asking for more investment in our social security system to protect people from debt and destitution.

• Reduce the burden of benefit deductions to ease pressures now and in the long term.  This means much lower deduction rates to repay government debt and overall debt.
• Introduce a commitment in the social security system that benefit rates will always be enough to protect people from destitution. This support is needed not just in a national crisis, but every day.
