Emma Wilkins – Communications Manager
I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2009 with a very enjoyable - but not very useful - degree in Film and Television. I then started working at my local shop. I began working at REACH in August 2022 as Administration Officer, after working for twelve years as a manager in M&S. I enjoyed my time in retail, but wanted a change and jumped at the opportunity to work for a charity doing such important work in the community. I have always had a passion for customer service and organisation, so it's great to have a role where I can play my part in helping people in and outside of the office, as well as indulging my desire to tidy, sort and file!

In January 2023, I took on the role of Communications Team Leader as it allows me to additionally use the skills I have at leading a team, albeit a petit team of two! I can also apply my interest in media, my interest in people, and my love of writing. I love learning new things, and am excited to turn my attention to communications and all that it entails.

I moved to the area in 2021, just 2 weeks before my son was born, and love the sense of community. I also enjoy rambling, so living in a more rural area is fantastic, and I can often be found hiking through a field with my reluctant husband and with my son on my back.

I have been a volunteer in Guiding since 2014 when I began helping with a local Brownie unit. I now also help at Rangers and it never ceases to make me smile seeing the girls experience new opportunities, realise their potential and just watch them have an amazing time. Most of my time is split between Guiding and spending time with my husband, son, and three chickens (Penny, Bernadette and Amy), so I've become a big fan of podcasts that I can listen to while doing the housework. I listen to anything that talks about my interests, from film reviews and science, to comedy and cooking.
